How can you provide a safe environment to allow middle and high school students located across the state of Colorado to connect with business professionals?
The design of the STEMWorks web site is inviting, but extremely clear.
STEMWorks matches mentors with students (or proteges). This site has a discussion area where mentors and students can talk, but the great thing about this ‘chat room feel’ is that it’s safe. Once you have a mentor and student pair, this mentorship is a private conversation - except, of course, for the oversight of system administrators and teachers.
Although the technology of the site is very complex, the site’s design is drop dead simple. Computer savvy teens can’t get bored, yet less computer literate business people can’t get lost.
