Last month. Besides informal information sharing:
-
Matt Kleve talked about Drupal performance, including Apache Benchmark, APC, php.ini settings, memcache, my.cnf, Varnish, slow query log and more.
-
Bryan Jones demonstrated how to configure a mobile theme for a Drupal site, specifically www.monarchdigital.com and m.monarchdigital.com. John Ferris demoed a fluid theme site, www.upadowna.com.
-
Mike Potter talked about setting up an easy local development environment using Drupal Quickstart: http://drupal.org/project/quickstart.
August's meeting. As usual, we'll probably have folks volunteer to show some of the latest Drupal goodness they've recently used, but we'll definitely have:
-
Caleb Thorne will demo automated scrubbing of Drupal databases in refreshing local development versions of a web site. Scrubbing includes enabling modules (like Devel), disabling modules (like Securepages), changing email settings and passwords and more.
-
Adrian Rollett will demo Drush make and makefiles, showing how you can create makefiles and how you can make the most of them. If there's time and interest, he'll also introduce installation profiles.
Location. Unlike our UCCS location, we were able to get good wireless connectivity at the East Library: 5550 N. Union Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO. Right now, I have the meeting scheduled in Community Room II at the East Library. However, we might obtain a different venue, so watch for any changes.
Agenda. We'll start around 6:30 pm. Eat beforehand, because we're not supposed to have food in the room without incurring a fee. We do some informal sharing and then get into the presentations. The library closes at 9 pm, so we must be out by then. Sometimes, folks go out for a beer afterwards.
