As an educational tool, Genetic Alliance's genesinlife.org site needed a way to graphically display the history of genetics research. Monarch Digital developed a custom time line that would display important events in the history of genetic research. The time line is interactive and scrolls across date ranges.
Monarch Digital built a custom module and integrated it with a custom Views style. With an easy to use interface, content managers merely have to add an event and the time line will immediately display the new event and place it in a specific location based on the event's date.
Monarch also allowed non-technical Genetic Alliance personel the ability to alter the display of the time line without touching any code. Through the view, content managers could easily choose date ranges, date increment size, custom text, and size options. With no coding experience or ability, a content manager can change the time line and give it an entirely new look.
