When a new member joins the Mercedes-Benz Club of America, the new member can select a local club or section to belong to, but, more often than not, new members don't make this selection. When a new member does not select a local section, the MBCA web site will automatically assign the new member to the appropriate web site using their zip code.
In each section content type, Monarch stores a list of 3, 4 and 5 digit zip codes. When a new member joins and has not explicitly selected a local section, Monarch looks up the zip code and assigns the new member to a section based upon their zip code.
A visitors explore membership on the site, they can enter their zip code on the membership page and be directed to an informational page for the section in their area. This local section page displays information about the section along with a listing of the officers in the section. A visitor can simply click on the name of an officer and send an email directly.
