Rick and Pat Nashleanas, the founders of Monarch Digital, founded their first software company in the IBM mainframe world, where a strict “Systems Development Life Cycle” required first developing extensive requirements that were frozen once coding started.
Although the SDLC (now called Waterfall project management) can still be used for very well-defined web projects, we find that our customers simply can’t define enough about their web site at the outset of development to follow this strict methodology.
Most commonly, we work with our customers to define an initial version of the system that is well-defined. When the web site has been developed to meet that initial specification, Monarch Digital can then work with the site owners to define the next set of requirements that have become clear during initial development.
This “Agile” development methodology provides better deliverables, faster, with less rework. Using the Drupal Content Management System (CMS), we can continue to build upon each phase of the development process without losing any ground.
