
It doesn't cost anything to download and use Drupal from drupal.org. How can something this powerful be free?
Over the years, web developers have needed the same functionality over and over again. Why do I need to develop a login yet again? These programmers started sharing their code and creating a code base that everyone used and everyone contributed to. This community grew and became more formalized, becoming the Drupal project.
